Cooling Tower Water and Energy Modeling

I worked as a research assistant developing Python-based thermodynamic models to estimate cooling tower performance, water use, and energy consumption for data centers and commercial buildings.

The models used local weather conditions, cooling tower specifications, and system inputs to estimate cooling achieved and water use per tower and across multiple towers. Later versions explored optimization of airflow, water flow, or both, including a model predictive control direction.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion Process Simulation

I simulated a Laser Powder Bed Fusion process in COMSOL to study the thermal behavior of a Ti-6Al-4V block. The setup followed published methodology for heat distribution in LPBF and modeled a laser path traversing the material.

The project focused on thermal simulation, material behavior, and process parameters, connecting aerospace materials interest with numerical modeling.
